S8 Monday Playoff Recap
If you missed out on Sunday’s playoffs – our last and final playoffs of the season here are some highlights!
We started off the day with a fashion show! There was a stage set up so the Cexe Monday Night exec team decided that we would have some fun with it! Mike, Brandon, Billy, Grace, Pete, and Mark with his cape entered the gym with swag and strutted down that catwalk like no other! Even Steph Co got in on the action – she supplied the shirts, we supplied the models! A great entrance and we got to show off the new t-shirts VDL got in this season!
I personally asked a non-member of their team to remind them and ensure that they would bring their flag and boy did they ever! The Fighting Uruk-hai came out and reminded us why they were voted for best dressed! With their warrior cries, headbands, and their sick, sick flag they came out fighting like uruk-hai!
This season we all have something to be proud of as a team of execs won Hootie and graciously shared the prize with the runner-ups as they were so close in points! Dodgeball, I Choose You led by example this season and showed their peers how dodgeball can be competitive yet still very spirited! The spirit ballots don’t lie! And just to show how spirited they are, they decided to share Hootie with the runner up team, who was behind by a mere point zero seven (0.07) points, team Psych! They even gave up their prize so that their team could go out and celebrate in style courtesy of VDL.
Tier A playoffs was an exciting tournament as many of teams came out hungry for the belt! It was an epic battle all the way to the finish line against Dodgeball, I Choose You and Ballistics. Dodgeball, I Choose You was not giving up without a fight trying to defend their championship from Season 7. In the end Ballistics prevailed with their whipping curve balls, there was just no escaping them.
Tier B playoffs was just as intense with the finals coming down to !dodge.equals(PWNED) and Wii Not Fit. When it came down to the finals, Wii Not Fit only had to win one set to take the title. !dodge.equals(PWNED) was not having any of it though and they came out blasting, beating Wii Not Fit 3-0 in the first series. A little shaken by what just happened during the first set, Wii Not Fit became Wii Not Lose and came back fighting strong for the win!
