S8 TOC Recap
For any dodgeball fan(atic), DT was the centre of the universe on Sunday, December 20th, where VDL hosted the second ever Tournament of Champions to see who truly is the best of the best. This season’s TOC brought together 16 of the top teams across VDL and CDL to duke it for eternal bragging rights. The day started with a friendly round robin to shake off that dodgeball rust, play against new teams, and warm up. Afterwards, it was business time!
Music was pumping, play was competitive and spirits were high! In some cases, VDL witnessed some tragedy as teams with similar players, namely the Courgar Cubs and Dodgeball I Choose You, had to cannibalize each other. Hope those cubs were tasty!
After the dust settled, two teams remained: Monday’s Champs–Ballistics–who were undefeated going in vs. Tuesday’s Champs–8 Bit–who were knocked down to the loser’s bracket AKA the “better looking” bracket by Ballistics in an earlier and thrilling match up. After a hard fought set of 4 games that went back and forth, Ballistics took the crown and another Monday Night team became rulers of the known Dodgeball Universe! Congratulations to Ballistics for winning, and good effort to 8 Bit for a valiant effort. Both teams are commended for playing at the highest level with good spirit and sportsmanship. Also a big congratulations to VDL’s very own Dylan Cooper, who was dominant throughout the tournament (no surprise here) and was awarded the TOC MVP. With that, S8 finally wrapped up. See you all in the Spring!
Also, special thanks goes out to our sponsors at Warner Brothers for providing free Invictus t-shirts, water bottles, posters and cups to the VDL community! This is a touching and inspiring movie, go check it out!

You should host an open tournament for any team to enter. Im From Grande Prairie, and I have a feeling my team could give these champs a run for their money.
Hey Tayler!
VDL hosts open tournaments throughout the year.
You should definitely make the trip out with your team to Vancouver to play in one of the tourneys.
Keeping coming back to the VDL site for more news.
