Season 6 Extravaganza and Playoffs

Extravaganza

Please Note: Dodgeball Extravaganza is an event for teams from all league divisions!

Extravaganza will consist of several different events. Here are a few examples from previous seasons.

Best Dodger
The object of the game is to retrieve items on the court and bring them back to your corner while trying to avoid being hit by balls being thrown at you. You cannot use balls to block throws and you cannot catch balls. This is purely dodging only! The player who completes the task in the shortest time will be declared our BEST DODGER.

Hardest Thrower
VDL has a perfectly calibrated radar gun that will record how fast you can throw that dodgeball. Players will just line up and each player will get two throws and the faster time between the two gets recorded. The fastest thrower will be declared our HARDEST THROWER.

1-on-1 Showdown
This competition will be done in a single elimination, tournament style. Players will sign up for this event in their respective division at the beginning of Extravaganza.

Players will face off in a 1-on-1 showdown and when you score a win, you will advance to the next rounds. The final player remaining for each division will face off against each other to determine the best 1-on-1 showdown player in the league.

Note: There is limited spacing for this event.

Mixed Team Battle Royal
This event will answer the question that has been on everyone’s mind the whole season; which division has the best players? We both know that all divisions have fierce competition and exceptional sportsmanship. In this mixed teams battle royal, we will randomly mix the players within each division and form 9 to 12 teams consisting of six to twelve players, depending on the number of players that we have. Each mixed team will face off against another mixed team from the other division, selected randomly, in a best 2 out of 3 match to score 1 point. After all the matches are over, the division with the most points will win the VDL Battle Royal and will have claim to some serious bragging rights!

Mass Games
We have the BADG, of course. We also have a few more surprises in terms of games that we have experimented with in the past that have gained popularity with our players. They include “Pins Dodgeball” and “Last Player Standing” as well as, a couple other potential surprise games that you will only experience when you show up to the extravaganza

Pub Night

Where are you going to enjoy delicious appetizers, mouth-watering burgers, and cold refreshing beer? There’s only one place to be on November 1st after the VDL Extravaganza – VDL’s “Wouldn’t want to be anywhere else” Pub Night. The only thing we love to do more than playing dodgeball is getting to know our players! The night will be filled with great prizes (we will be raffling off prizes all evening!), great food, and of course, great people! This is always a higly anticipated event that has been getting bigger and better each season. You can be sure that this season will be no different.

During the night VDL will be providing some free appetizers and beer for players. In addition, players and their guests will be eligible for VDL’s burger and beer special! We would love to see you all out there and we always do our best to provide the best time possible. It’s our way of giving back to our players and thanking them for joining us each and every season. See you at the pub, everyone!!!
