S14 Pre-Season News #1 – Exhibition Week

Posted on September 01, 2012 at 1:55 pm |

Hello dodgers!

Are you ready to embark on the journey to become the next dodgeball master, and become the very best that no one ever was?! Well get set for another epic season of big hits, clutch catches, intense showdown matches, the sight of grown men crying, and all around good times! So let’s shake off that rust and get back into the game by coming out to Exhibition Week!

Just a few things to note before the season starts:

  1. Be sure you have your waiver signed! This is not a joke! If your waiver is not signed before you enter the gym for Exhibition Week, you will not be eligible to participate in the dodgeball fun. We had to turn away Chuck Norris last season because he didn’t have his waiver signed. Truth!

  1. Please take a few minutes to refresh yourself of VDL’s Rules, League Policy, Player Code of Conduct, and Officiating Guidelines. We want to keep things running smoothly for everyone to enjoy!
  2. Please review your team information for this season here and notify us of any changes in team name, captain’s information, or tier by Thursday, September 6th.
  3. Grab your teammates and choose a Dodgeball 101/Vet’s Night session! Exhibition Week will run from Monday, September 10 to Thursday, September 13. Please sign up at least 48 hours in advance to secure a spot as spaces fill up quickly.

Dodgeball 101 will be a fun orientation to VDL where you will learn rules, policies, code of conduct, handy tips, and you’ll get to try these out with some practice games. Register here for Dodgeball 101!

    Josh says:

Hi there, my team is planning on going to the dodgeball 101 on Monday Night, but one of our team members is unable to make it that night, is it possible for me to go with them another night if I also go with my team on the Monday?
And does each player have to register for dodgeball 101, or do we just register once as a team?

    Jeff Phung says:

    Hi Josh,

Each member of your team must individually register for Dodgeball 101. However you and your teammate are welcome to sign up for a session on another night if you choose.

    Hope this answers your question!

The link to dickens on google maps takes a person to the wrong place

The posted link https://maps.google.ca/maps?q=1010+East+17th+Avenue+Vancouver+BC takes a person 4 blocks away and on the wrong side of kingsway

But this link takes a person to the right place https://maps.google.ca/maps?q=1010+E+17th+Avenue+Vancouver+BC

Must be a bug with google maps.

*VDL Edit* That was weird. We’ve updated the links. Thanks for pointing it out!
