S17 Important Events, Dates, & Reminders

Prepare for 3 Months of Pure Awesomeness!

It’s here at last! Get set for another epic season of big hits, double catches, intense showdowns, and all-around good times! Take full advantage of the upcoming season by taking note of the following events, dates, and reminders.

  1. S17 Registration Deadline – January 26th: There are still a few spots left so register now!
  2. Advanced Skills Clinic – January 25th: Learn elite-level techniques and take your game to the next level! Spots are limited, so register now!
  3. Exhibition Week – January 27th-30th: Register for Dodgeball 101 (an introduction for complete newbies) or Vets Night (warm up games for returning players).
  4. Regular Season – January 27th-May 8th: Check the league schedule to know when and where you’ll be playing.
  5. Beginners Skills Clinic – February 9th: Master the fundamentals of throwing, catching, blocking, and team strategies. Spots are limited, so register now!
  6. Photo Week – February 18th-24th: Get your team uniforms picture ready and compete for the title of “Best Dressed”! Need inspiration? Check out our VDL Gallery!
  7. Ballin’ on the Beach Tournament – March 23rd: Feel the sand between your toes and experience a brand new style of dodgeball! Stay tuned for more details.
  8. VDL’s Legendary Pub Night – Date TBD: The best and biggest social event of the season! Bring the whole team for an amazing night of fun, drinks, prizes, and entertainment!
  9. S17 Playoffs – May 3rd (Tues. Div.), May 4th (Wed. Div.), May 10th (Mon. Div.), May 11th (Thurs. Div.): Mark your calendars! Dates are subject to change.
  10. Sign your Waiver NOW! All S17 players must sign their waivers before they are allowed to play in the league. Waiver checks occur throughout the season. Players who haven’t signed their waivers will be turned away. Your waiver also insures you, if you somehow get injured while playing.
  11. Spirit Points: Teams will earn bonus spirit points for every perfect 10/10 night. Consecutive perfect nights earn even more points! This season it’s possible to go beyond 10!
  12. VDL relies on Peer Reffing: Our league is a much better place when everybody knows the rules. Please take a few of minutes to familiarize yourselves with VDL’s Dodgeball Rules, Officiating Guidelines, Player Code of Conduct, and League Policies.
